Flax seed is also known as linseed. Brown flax seeds, which have a slight nutty flavor. Flax seeds are sometimes used as replacement for eggs in baking, with 3 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of ground flax seeds acting as one egg. Flax seeds are regarded as having high lignan and Omega-3 fatty acids.
